What You Need to Know About the June 24th Primary

The Democratic primary on June 24th, 2025 will decide which candidate will represent Democrats in the main election on November 4th, 2025.

There is only one Republican candidate this year, Curtis Sliwa, so there will not be a Republican primary.

Eric Adams is running as an independent in the General Election. Independent candidates do not have primaries and will participate in the main election in November.

Ranked Choice Voting

The June 24th Democratic Primary uses ranked choice voting. This means you can rank up to 5 candidates in order of who you like best. Number 1 is your top choice, and number 5 is your last choice. If you do not want a candidate to receive any of your votes, do not put them on your ballot at all.
